What are Restylane dermal fillers?
Several companies create and provide dermal fillers, and Restylane is one of the premier brands. Restylane is an FDA-approved dermal filler made primarily with hyaluronic acid. It appears as a clear gel, and when injected, Restylane can add extra fullness and volume. It can also enhance the body’s hyaluronic production. We use Restylane, along with other fillers, to address specific wrinkles, giving a younger appearance. This filler targets medium to severe-depth wrinkles at the dermal layer, specifically:
Nasolabial folds or smile lines (the lines that form from the nose to the mouth)
Marionette Lines (the lines that start from the mouth to the chin)
And the corners of your mouth (small wrinkles that spread out when you smile or laugh)
Restylane has a 95% satisfaction rate and may last more than one year after injection.
Restylane Products we carry
Our facial bones give shape and structure to our face. As we age, bone resorption increases, leading to loss of definition and contours, especially at the posterior part of the jawline. Another consequence of aging is volume loss in the mid face, which could lead to flat cheeks, saggy skin and jowling. Creating a lift with RESTYLANE® will compensate for these changes. Another reason for lift with RESTYLANE® could be that you have a desire to enhance your facial features and bring out your individuality, no matter your age.
Restylane® LYFT™ can be tailored to any individual look to give you the freedom to be original. Restylane® LYFT™ is our firmest dermal filler and is suited for lifting the cheeks, enhancing the jawline or chin, or reducing the appearance of wrinkles.2 If you have a thinner tissue coverage,
Treatments with Restylane® LYFT can last up to 24 months. Results may vary by client.
Restylane Contour is the newest addition to the Restylane family of dermal filler products, designed specifically for injection into the mid face. Restylane was FDA-approved in June of 2021, although the dermal filler has been used for several years in the United Kingdom and is known there as Restylane Volyme. Galderma, a trusted leader in skincare, manufactures Restylane Contour using their XpresHAn technology. The process of creating the dermal filler with XpresHAn technology produces a crosslinked hyaluronic acid filler that is firm enough to replenish lost facial volume, yet flexible enough to move naturally with facial expressions. The result of having cheek augmentation with Restylane Contour injections is improved skin elasticity, enhanced facial contour and more prominent cheekbones, and restored facial volume for a more youthful, beautiful appearance and natural look.
This lip filler is unique because it has been created with a technology called “XpresHAnTM” cross-linked gel. Just like Juvederm, this product is hyaluronic acid based.
The difference with Restylane® Kysse is that it allows for enhanced flexibility during lip movements, natural looking soft volume, and enhanced texture (fewer wrinkles) and color in the lips.
Due to the flexibility of this product, lips sustain their full range of natural movements such as speaking, laughing, eating, or drinking. This product cannot be used in other areas of the face than the lips. However, a bonus of this product is that the manufacturer boasts that less gel needs to be injected to get the same results as with other lip fillers.
Restylane® Kysse also lasts up to one year!
Are you thinking about fillers?
Have you ever walked past the mirror and do a double-take? On closer inspection, you see some unwanted wrinkles, folds, and it looks a little dull. When you touch your skin, it’s not as baby smooth as you remember. In fact, those wrinkles seem to be getting deeper. On researching online, patients uncover dermal fillers, particularly Restylane dermal fillers and are eager to jump in.
We get patients like these every day who want to look as good as they feel. In most cases, we do recommend Restylane. Before we cover the product, we need to discuss dermal fillers.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are safe, non-toxic substances injected into the skin to fight wrinkles, folds, and the signs of aging. More and more people turn to dermal fillers, with 2.6 million procedures happening in 2018 alone. When a dermatologist or plastic surgeon injects the filler at various depths, the skin responds by absorbing more water and smoothing out. Dermal fillers have several functions:
It smooths fine lines around the cheeks, eyes, nose, and mouth.
It’s a popular way to plump up and define lips.
Dermal fillers can reduce the signs of acne scars.
It can plump up sunken cheeks and helps contour the face.
Some even use it for fine lines and wrinkles in the hands.
Gives the skin a fresh, dewy appearance.
Most dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the body. Hyaluronic acid helps the body retain moisture and helps lubricate the joints. When it’s injected, the acid draws more water to the upper layers of the skin, reducing wrinkles, blemishes, and scars. It also enhances collagen production, which is important for the skin’s health, elasticity, and hydration.
